Land Hearts was founded in June 2026 to support ourselves and others in the journey away from extraction and commodification. These hallmarks have become the primary source and value of everything that defines the "art world."
What does a new world look like?
Well, let’s go for a ride…
Over the coming months, we will be launching our first initiatives for artists exploring earth-centered practices! These artists will be driven to share how they're hacking the art system. They‘ll be eager learn new ways to expand or recreate their creative practices into ones in which the mandate to produce sustainably leads to breakthroughs in their own work. When shared, this growth will contribute to the development of a new art world that heals Earth and its inhabitants.
Further down the road, we will be located on land in which art materials, food, and resources are gifted by the land in return for our care. This home will host gatherings, workshops, classes, residencies, and performances. Through these activities, we will breathe life into the new world as we continue to develop our collaborative vision.
We are rooted in and endlessly inspired by the culture, landscape, and soul of Appalachia and the rural South. We welcome all.
You comin’ with us?
